About the art on the backpack
The Palm Beach Blue painting started in January 2018. It has taken almost 6 months to complete. It is painted on wood panel, using a unique painting technique that needs drying time between layers.
When I started this painting the painting was about Christmas time and holiday art. The painting then became about the chill in the air which stayed for a while in Florida this year.
The original Inspiration was an old Christmas Cards from the 1940's or 50's with a retro style of art.

I envisioned the Palm Beach Lady that would take out her mink coat and keep herself warm as she walked along the intercoastal and just took in the cold.
Then during painting this painting a terrible thing occurred in Florida and the painting took a change.
During the painting of this painting the Parkland shooting occurred and the painting took on a new direction. A natural response.
Things come along, the unexpected and they create change regardless.
