Biography of Sharon Tatem
Sharon Tatem is a multidisciplinary fine artist, early digital art pioneer, storyteller, AI artist, fashion designer, NFT creator, and creative visionary whose career spans over three decades of impactful exhibitions, charitable contributions, public speaking, and immersive art experiences. A graduate of Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, with further studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the School of Visual Arts in New York, Sharon's artistry fuses classical technique with imaginative storytelling.
Sharon Tatem's original oil paintings have been exhibited in galleries across the United States, from The Bailey Art Gallery in Florida to five covers of Dan’s Papers of the Hamptons, where she was named “Artist of the Hamptons.”
In addition to her fine art, Sharon Tatem was one of the first digital artists to work on computer-generated movie posters in the early 1990s. She contributed to major campaigns such as Pulp Fiction and retouched iconic portraits of celebrities including Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna, and Paloma Picasso.
Sharon Tatem painted enchanting murals in homes and businesses throughout the 2000s, adding warmth, fantasy, and storytelling to everyday spaces.
She is also the creator of the Sharon Tatem Fashion Collection — a vibrant line of dresses, swimwear, skirts, tops, and full outfits for both women and men. Her designs have been featured at Palm Beach Swim Week, Palm Beach Fashion Show, Dada Delray Beach, and Palm Beach Fashion Week events. Her work has been covered by The Palm Beach Post, Atlantic Avenue Magazine, and Fashion Examiner.
She produced and funded a major fashion show for the Town of Stuart, training aspiring models and fashion professionals while bringing art and couture to a community in need of cultural enrichment.
Sharon is the creator of The Wonderscape — a fully immersive art and storytelling universe that includes a 40-minute animated movie, a fine art collection, short videos, illustrated books, and downloadable digital content. The Wonderscape blends hand-painted artwork with original stories, music, and multimedia experiences to create a magical world that bridges traditional fine art and modern technology.
The Wonderscape published book series includes 15 original books, Kindle downloads, the animated film Tulip’s Journey Through the Wonderscape, and a growing gallery of oil paintings that act as narrative portals into fantastical realms.
She has created hundreds of fine art works—many of which have inspired her groundbreaking multimedia project, The Wonderscape—the animated film, book series, and art collection that together form an ever-expanding realm of fantasy, art, and imagination.
Sharon's passion for public art and community outreach is evident in her extensive mural work and donations to children’s organizations, schools, and nonprofit foundations. She pioneered "The Interactive Wall Mural Event," an experiential project that has engaged over 2,000 children in collaborative art creation, from the Festival of Trees at the Nassau Coliseum to ArtiGras, The Feast of Little Italy, and Binks Forest Elementary School.
She has donated permanent murals to organizations such as Junior Achievement of West Palm Beach, The Children's Place at Homesafe, and created patriotic artwork in response to 9/11 for the NYC Chamber of Commerce. Sharon’s generosity has benefited the Martin County Red Cross, United Cerebral Palsy Foundation, and numerous community initiatives.
Her commissioned portrait of Mayor Thomas Menino of Boston is permanently on exhibit at the New York Soup Exchange in Massachusetts.
Sharon continues to explore the intersection of art, technology, and storytelling through ongoing projects including The Wonderscape, LaLaLace Fashion Collections, and community-based art events. She resides in Stuart, Florida, where she creates full-time.
